Adam Kout reflects on his first season in TCR Eastern Europe

Adam Kout has a lot of experience in racing. He has not only driven formula cars, but he has also had many successful experiences in karting. The 2023 season marked his debut in a TCR category and earned him third place overall, which is why he calls it very successful season. He will continue with the Hyundai Janík Motorsport team this year.

Despite the fact that the 2023 season was a return to the racing scene for Adam Kout, he quickly got used not only to the car, but also to the whole team. The return was also a big challenge. "With everything being completely new to me, I was a little worried about whether I would be able to adapt quickly enough. But the very first race weekend proved that I am competitive. It was definitely down to the excellent work of the whole team, who helped me with everything."

The TCR Eastern Europe series toured six circuits in 2023, but Adam Kout was most successful in Most, where he managed to win one of the two races. "I like to reflect on the whole season, but the best moment for me was definitely winning the Sunday wet race at Autodrom Most." He also described this circuit as his favourite, as it was where the team achieved the most success.

The Hyundai Elantra N TCR was a new car for Adam, but he showed that he has a racing mind. "The opportunity to race the Hyundai Elantra N TCR is a dream come true for me. It's a really top racing car and I'm really looking forward to taking it out on the track again."

There are many things to do over the winter break, whether it's relaxing or preparing for the next season. Even Adam had to fill the long break with activities, which included an interesting holiday. "I took a bit of an unusual holiday, but it wasn't completely relaxing. I rode with a friend on motorcycles from the Czech Republic to Dakar and back. During the winter break, I also devoted myself fully to work in our family business and, of course, to preparing for the season ahead."

So how is Adam preparing for the upcoming 2024 season? "Mainly it's been working hard in the gym and, when conditions allow, skialp skiing. I would also like to practice this new circuit on the simulator before the first race weekend at Balaton Park to be as prepared as possible."
